When you go on or associate with a particular difficult activity or people, beware of the particular obstacle that can cause you problems
Culture
It shows ways of life of people when they go in the woods that they must have the knives with them for use. As Office of the Royal Society (2010) provides the meaning of this proverb that people should be cautious and careful for everything as if arranging to take the knifes with them when going to the woods (p. 13).

Meaning
When you go on or associate with a particular difficult activity or people, beware of the particular obstacle that can cause you problems
Culture
It shows the tradition of people playing the sport “lawn bowls”. Lawn bowls is a British sport and people have played it since about the 13th century; it was so popular that there were hundreds of lawn blows clubs in England and Scotland in 1852 (Redmond, 1982, p. 283). This proverb was found in the mid-18th century; the word “robber” refers to the robs, unequal level of the ground, on the lawn when one is playing it (Manser, 2007, p. 272). Once one associates to something difficult, described as the lawn bowls, he/she should bewares of obstacles that can him/her troubles, described as “rubbers”( Knowles, 2006).
